Centre for research, production and dissemination of works of electronic music and, in particular, mixed music
Several commissions are launched each year by the Centre Henri Pousseur to composers from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and abroad. They have a composition grant and also allow composers to come and work on their creations at the Centre.
Every year, the Centre Henri Pousseur presents its Festival Images Sonores, dedicated to mixed music, the sound universe where acoustic sounds enter into an exciting dialogue with their electronic extension. During this festival, several concerts and presentations, resulting from the activities carried out by the Centre Henri Pousseur in the fields of educational research, are offered in Liège, Brussels and other cities of the Federation. Cultural houses and surprising places form the stage for a wide spectrum of musical creations, performances and transdisciplinary encounters, allowing a wide audience to participate in a relaxed and open way in today's artistic expression.
Since 2009, the Henri Pousseur Prize has been awarded every two years and rewards a young laureate of a Conservatory of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. With a composition grant, the Prize consists of the commissioning of a new mixed work. For this, the winner has the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of the technical team of the Centre Henri Pousseur, which also ensures the creation of the work.
